Best Day of My Life

Okay, not really. In reality, not even close. I was just really excited for this movie.

Homecoming Week 2008

Well it finally came (not that I was really anticipating it), my senior homecoming week. There's a really great word to describe this week- anticlimatic. From the death threats to the fact that this was my homecoming week, everything wasn't as exciting as it should have been. No harm befalled anybody on Friday (which is in fact a good thing), but the video was not good (that's all I'm gonna say about that) and the Northern Lights kind of sucked all the life out of the room. I liked the fact that the cheerleaders did Thriller for their dance, but some of them were kind of uncoordinated. The band was awesome, though. That was nice. And the guy who I voted for Homecoming King won. So, whatever. I didn't expect it to be much, and it wasn't.

But on the plus side, I had a blast dressing up this week. It was probably the best week for dressing up that I've participated in. Plus, I like being weird and homecoming week is a perfect outlet for that kind of behavior. Also, I didn't have to go to fifth and sixth hour at all on Friday and I got to sit in a room and eat pizza. Good trade off.

Here are some pictures:

Slob Day:

Pink slippers are simply a must have for this slob season.

Here's Brooke looking quite fashionable sporting the plaid look.

Messed up hair is the only way to go.

Crazy Day (my personal favorite):

Oh yeah. She didn't dress up for crazy day. I wonder why not...

Her hair makes her look like a poodle. For the senior electives or whatever, she got voted Best Hair. I really hope they took the picture for the yearbook on that day :D

We are vampires. -snarl-

We are the Queens.

I liked crazy day :D I may or may not have been very hyper and weird that day, just because I could.

My favoirte. The back of my head, bwhahaha.

Go Green Day (hehehehe):

I really like that green jacket, but I couldn't wear it for the whole day. That would have defeated the purpose of making the shirts....

Yes. Enough said.

Brooke's was a bit more extreme then mine.

But I did get a lot of glares because of the logo I was sporting (see next picture).

Yup, the oh so liberal students at Hibbing High School loved this one.

I had to put this picture of Rachel up. She looked so dang cute that day.

80's Day:

Ahh, watercolor. The class in which I do nothing. I look like I'm gonna cry.

California splatter!

We is from the 80's where the mullets roam free.

School Spirit Day:

Hahahahaha, and then Mr. Wolla walked by.

We think each other is cool. That's all that matters...

Lynda. She played the piano for the coronation. She paints her face a different way every year.

The pizza bribe. Tasty bribe.

That is a hideous couch.

Me and Rachel. This was definitely before the performance, because we're still smiling. I'm just kidding. I didn't really care how we did.

Twilight...

It's kind of sad how addicting these books are. I pretty much spent my last week of summer reading through the four of them. And then I started rereading them....

Read at your own risk...

Sr. Teen 2 Camp: LIFE

I was just sitting around doing nothing, so I decided to actually post the promised post. Here it comes. Are you ready? Didn't think so. But it's coming anyway...

Monday, July 28, 2008:

2:00 a.m.- I thought someone broke into the house. It was just Andrew roaming around. I got paranoid none the less. So in my confused state, I figured that if I slept next to my bedroom door, no one could get in. Smart, huh?

4:49 a.m.- I hear my alarm clock. My alarm clock was actually set for 4:21, I just didn't hear it until 4:49. I got ready and was waiting patiently for Mike to pick me and bring me to the church.

6:00 a.m.- We started heading towards Lake Geneva! Our car was the party car. Mike was driving, I was sitting shotgun (I has a gun), and in the back was Jeremy, Brooke, and Mark. I'm going to stop with the times. I'm just gonna summarize the rest of the week with pictures. Okay? Okay.

We got to the camp and found out that the girls were staying in the Lakeview Center. We were kind of disappointed because we usually stay in Lady Land (the crappy dorms that are fun for some reason). We were sad until we became extremely happy when we saw that they remodeled the center and found out that they added bathrooms and two showers to each room. Let's just say we went around screaming with joy (literally screaming) for about ten minutes. And we also found out later that week that Barb Dean personally requested that a few more bunks be added to our room so that we all could room together :D We all thanked her a bunch.

The days pretty much consisted of sitting under our tree (it became our tree by the end of the week. Everyone just knew that it was our tree) either playing music or just hanging out. Sometimes the hanging out consisted of cartwheels and human pyramids.

The nights consisted of going to Geneva Java and getting all hyped up right before lights out. We also went around with the guitar and sang to people. Yup.

Here's a little story about a girl named Brooke. Brooke was having a good time hanging with her two good friends Jenni and Mike. They were laughing and having a good time.

Then Brooke started feeling pains in her side. "It hurts really bad," she told her friends. But her friends just kept on laughing and joking. She said that she was serious. They paid no attention. Then her appendix burst and she was rushed away never to be seen again.

Obviously I'm kidding. What really happened was Brooke went to the nurse, got some drugs, laid down for a bit, and was fine.

Pink team dominated at Ulitmate Frisbee, which was pretty much the only thing we dominated at. We ended up getting 7th out of 8th place. BOOYA! haha.

Some of us played...

And some of us didn't, for obvious reasons. (Because we're too cool. Definitely has nothing to do with our physical inability to do sports...)

Here's the Mountain Dew bottle that Mike threw and hit me in the eye. Thank you. Thanks for that.

If there's one thing I have learned at camp, it's that boys are strange. And really cruel when it comes to pizza.

It's tradition, we always take a picture at the "gate".

Little did we know that that was the last time we would ever see most of these people. They got hopelessly lost and we never saw them ever again. All that was left was Mike, me, and some boys.

This sign was a revelation...
Of course I was kidding about never seeing them again. They eventually found the DIRECTION they were LOOKING FOR and made it back to Hibbing. Granted it was three hours later than intended, but they got there.
As always an eventful year at camp. I didn't even begin to scratch the surface of what went on there. You'll just have to get the stories out of me in person.

Juno

Here is my post for June.

It's very hot in the room within I am posting, so this was one is gonna be quick.

It was my birthday this month. I am the dancing queen. I also took the ACT two days after my birthday. That was whole oodles of fun. It was kind of an interesting experience. I felt like I was actually doing something for once that is working towards my future, which is a crazy thought. Colleges are going to look at that and determine how smart I am. I hate that a piece of paper (or piece of information on the piece of paper) is going affect (is it affect or effect? I don't care. The test is over) how they think of me. They will have never met me. They won't be able to figure out that at times I can be very witty and have a whole butt-load of common sense. Come on!

Anyways, my birthday was fun. I got up and opened my presents (which is still my favorite part of the day. I don't care how old I am). Then Brooke (round of applause) came over and hung out before we headed down to Duluth.

Here's the story behind Duluth. My mom had some big meeting thing there, so we thought that it would be fun if the whole family went to Duluth and met her for dinner. So my dad, Brooke (who is an honorary part of the family), and I headed down first. We shopped for a bit before Mike came up behind us and scared us half to death in American Eagle. He, Aaron, the Jilb, and Andrew had just gotten to the mall and Jill and Mike decided to go to American Eagle. Then the spotted us, Mike snuck behind Brooke, and well, scared us, I guess.

We shopped for a bit more and then met my mom and my dad at Little Angie's Cantina down by Canal Park. It's one of my favorite restaurants for the single fact that it serves my all time favorite dessert, fried freaking ice cream. (No, freaking is not part of the name.)

So, it was an awesome birthday. I got to buy a bunch of clothes, pick out Brooke's present that she gave me, and got a music book.

Aha, and the greatest gift of all (well sort of, okay, not really) was that the Celtics had the greatest come back in NBA history against the Lakers because it was my birthday. They did it for me, and you all know it. So there.

I just got back from my family's vacation down in the cities. Just go to my dad's blog and read all about it. He did an awesome job summarizing it all up for everybody.

Oh, by the way, Superchick came out with their latest CD yesterday. I think all of you should go out and buy it. I know I'm going to.

Oh yeah, and my bestest friend in the whole entire world got a new blog. So, you all should check out Jess's new blog, cuz I actually changed the link so it will take you right there. :D

For those who haven't already seen it on my dad's blog, here is the video of me at the pops concert.

Thank you, Daddy!

Oh yeah, Thanks Nate Christian for drumming for me!

Prom Alt and other things

As always, it's been a long month, so I cannot exactly remember what I have done. But I do know that Prom Alt took place! For those who don't know what Prom Alt is (I know everyone who reads this blog knows what Prom Alt is, but I felt like explaining it), it is a place to have a crazy awesome time. It is not protesting Prom in anyway. Well, maybe it is protesting the select group of Prom goers who do stupid, dumb butt things after Prom is over.
Anyways, it is really an excuse to get all dressed up and have the leaders see how many different ways they can embarrass us. Let me explain. Every year, they just HAVE to take us bowling. So there we are, most of the girls in full length dresses, trying to bowl. I love it. (I might just be saying that because I broke 100, and usually that doesn't happen. And I was wearing a full length dress too, booya!)

We aren't protesting Prom, but I do think Prom Alt is a whole bunch more fun than Prom is. You are saying to yourself, how do you know? You haven't gone to prom. You go to Prom Alt every year. All that is very true, but I did talk to my friends who did go to Prom. Now lets see what you would rather do. Would you rather (Would Hugh Rather) sit in line for two hours waiting to take your picture, or be on the Tilt-a-whirl having a ball? Spinning isn't your thing? Well, how bout this. Would you rather be waiting in another line for two hours waiting to go on the Grand March, or run through the dark with a laser gun and shoot your bestest friends? Laser tag isn't or thing either, huh? I have another one for you. Would you rather spend a good amount of money where dinner and such is not even included, or pay a good amount of money, but dinner, a whole bunch of other stuff, and COLDSTONE is included. Well, there you have it.

Now for some pictures:

Brooke and Nate. Aren't they cute?

Mark, quit talking to the ketchup. It's not that intelligent.

Brookie and I. She's so purdy.

Yentle/Sheldon/Kari and me.

Brooke, Liz, and I decided a while ago that we would all wear our bridesmaid dresses to Prom Alt. And we did. We should have taken the picture Charlie's Angels style, but we forgot.

Me and my brother. He's good people. He did my hair real nice.

The Plutes. Thanks for putting on a great night!

And I just really wanted to put a picture of Amber Shain on here. I love that woman. She is the absolute best!

The other things:

The other things is really just a trip down to the cities to visit our friends at NCU. I only have four pictures and brief explanations. Here goes:

The beautiful Miss Melanie Plute let us crash in her dorm. Isn't she nice?

Micah and Josh Steen (not Dean, lol). Micah we had met previous to our trip, but Josh we met on this trip. His parents were missionaries in Spain, so he knows Spanish. Say quesadilla.

Micah leaving messages on Matt Hagsten's phone while he was at work. One of the messages was from a creepy uncle, another was a gay boy named Robbie from Vancouver, and the third was a call from the Govenator. I know, the last one doesn't seem very original, but it was freaking hilarious. I don't care what you say. I forgot my number, but I think it is 866-52Schwarzenegger. It doesn't get any better than that.

Here we are. The crazy Hibbingites that the people at NCU try to ignore but just can't. Well, except Molly. She's the one taking the picture. And Jason doesn't count cuz he goes to the U of M. So, he's there all the time. But yes, Mike, Brooke, and I. We're crazy....
